Environmental Sustainability Policy

As a socially responsible business, dB Broadcast actively seeks to invest in sustainable technologies, and to promote sustainable business practices. Energy efficiency is a key consideration during the design stages for our projects, and we encourage all our clients and suppliers throughout the industry to follow environmental best practice whilst we constantly strive for new ways to make a difference.

We recognise that our operations have an environmental impact, particularly in relation to the energy usage in our data centre, our travel, including to remote sites, and in the manufacture and use of the systems and products that we supply to our customers.

Existing measures to reduce our impact include a 224 panel/100kW solar PV array that directly supplies around a quarter of our energy requirements, giving an annual emissions reduction equivalent to 20 tonnes of CO2 in 2022. We also cater for electric vehicle users, with four 7kW charging points as part of the Pod Point network of fast chargers.

We comply with all relevant environmental legislation. Particularly applicable to our operation are the WEEE regulations for waste and RoHS for hazardous substances in electronics.

dB has received an EcoVadis Bronze award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This rating is based on supporting evidence in four main categories: Ethics, Labour & Human Rights, Environment and Sustainable Procurement.

We have furthered our commitment to environmental transparency by disclosing our environmental impact through CDP, a global non-profit that runs the world’s leading environmental disclosure platform. Disclosure is the foundation for transformative action, and we review the effectiveness of our policy and plans regularly.
